Hanami

Por kirai el 07 de April de 2008 en JapaneseCulture

Hanami (花見 - flower, see) is a Japanese tradition where people enjoys contemplating flowers. People goes wherever there are blossomed trees and do picnics below them. The most important hanami season happens when the cherry trees blossom (Sakura), it happened here in Tokyo two weeks ago and it’s finished by now. This year we had an splendid weather and I had the chance to visit many places with beautiful sakura in Tokyo. Here are some pictures I took in Asakusa, Shinjuku-gyoen, Yoyogi, Naka-Meguro and Meiji Jingu.

  3. Your pictures are great. Some of the best Hanami pictures I have seen. That last picture is of Asakusa, correct? I believe the Sakura above the shops are fake also but it still looks very nice.

I’d wanted to see the Nakameguro Yozakura… but didn’t have enough time.. I wonder if the lights are still on…?

  5. By the way, what kind of camera did you use? :)

  17. Hey wonderful photos!

I like how the sakura flowers look white, while the tree barks are black. Making it look like a black and white photo.

Then comes everyone in colorful clothings.. ^^
